About the authors and translators
Born in 1954, Zhong Jianye is a visiting professor at the Eastern Arts Academy, vice president of Shijiazhuang Calligraphers’ Association and president of the Calligraphers’ Association of Xinji City. His calligraphic works have been twice displayed in Japan and have repeatedly won China’s national and provincial prizes. An enthusiastic teacher of calligraphy, he is also the author of Calligraphy ABC published by the Xinhua Press, Beijing.
Wen Jingen is a senior editor at Foreign Lanugages Press, Beijing.
Pauline Cherrett has taught Chinese Brush Painting in England for over 20 years and is the author of several books on the subject.
