This story was adapted from Liao Zhai Zhiyi (The Strange Tales of Liao Zhai), a popular Chinese classic containing about 500 folktales, many about ghosts, fox spirits and other supernatural creatures written by Pu Songling of the Qing Dynasty. Bao’er lives with his parents in a big house. After his father has to go on a business trip, his mother suddently becomes crazy and can’t recognize her husband and son. Bao Er wants to find out why his mother became ill and get her recovered. Soon he finds out that an evil fox spirit is visiting his mother at night and bewitching her. But how can he fight this supernatural creature?
This is a beautifully illustrated picture book in traditional Chinese style.
